In addition to these tools, they offer online resources, video tutorials, practice tests, and software as well.
How Does The Southwestern Advantage MLM Work?
The company works as a direct selling business model, that focuses on recruiting new representatives to sell their products. The internship is for 12 wells in the summer, and you have to find a place to stay, working 12 hours a day for 6 days a week. It would be of great help if you find shelter from a family member during that time.
The sales representative earns a commission on the products they sell, and bonuses for meeting different sales targets. Rewards are also offered by the company to top-performing sales representatives in the form of scholarships, and all-expenses-paid trips.
The representative is trained to market these products by keeping meetings, and training on Sundays to further equip their recruits.

The answer is yes, it is very possible to make money with Southwestern Advantage. You are rewarded for each product you sell. The more products you sell, the more money you will be making.
The company recommends you make 30 daily presentations, with the commissions splitting at ba 40/60. You get 40%, and the company gets 60%. Your team leader also gets cut in your sales.
On the company website, they claim that the average sales representative earnings for the summer are between $8,000 and $12,000. However, those figures are not guaranteed, and it is recorded that many sales reps earn less than that.
How To Join Southwestern Advantage MLM?
To become a representative you have to have two people put in a letter of credit of $500 each to show that they are endorsing you so that if you fail to make the payment, your endorsers will be responsible to pay the company. A total of $1,,000. So it looks like have to purchase your own products to get started.
Considering the amount of money you have to pay to get started, by the number of hours per day working for six days, you will hardly be earning $8.00 an hour even if you take home $600 for the 12 weeks, as one student claim in Minnesota.

The company has been around for over 150 years, if they were a scam, authorities would have shut them down a long time ago. So to answer your question, No, Southwestern Advantage MLM is not a scam. They are members of the Direct Selling Association which represents MLM companies in the US.
As with any MLM company, Southwestern Advantage does have lots of drawbacks because of the nature of its business model. Recruiting people to build your income would make it difficult to make a decent income. That is the reason most people leave these MLM companies with no success.
Any Negatives about Southwestern Advantage MLM?
There are a few negative complaints from representatives, and some bad reviews circulating on the internet, but like many companies, these complaints happen to if not all most businesses. It is very difficult to please everyone. In 2012, Southwestern was sued by the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive recruiting practices, but it was settled before reaching court.
Certain Universities around the nation, like the University of Maryland, the University of Idaho, and Harvard University, had banned southwestern advantage from operating on their campuses because of misleading students that they were working for career services. They still took the chances and continue to recruit on those campuses discreetly.

Although some students have claimed that they made money within those 12 weeks goes to show why they are in business for this length of time. So if you would like to give this business a try, be my guess and go right ahead. I just believe because of the internet, there are better ways you can make money at the side with fewer hours and a low-cost start-up fee.
Direct selling products for MLM Companies can be rewarding, and people can make a little extra money on the side, especially if you still attending school, but it is too much of your time spent this way. In fact, in most MLM companies only one percent of the members, those at the top earn a decent income.
