In this article, we want to talk about habits successful people have in their workplace. Work will be defined as an activity to earn income. Habits are defined as a regular tendency that is hard to give up.
Success will be defined as the attainment of profit.
So, what are some of the work habits of successful people? Let’s think about this from the viewpoint of an Internet marketer that is working online or has started an online business they are trying to make profitable.

Improve Your Skills
I can not stress this enough because people who do not make money online usually fail because they lack Internet marketing skills. That is to say, they do not have enough overall skills to make money because they do not know what they are doing.
What kind of skills are we specifically talking about?
I’ve written about this before on my blog, but a famous Internet marketer once said that making money online is as easy as finding a problem that somebody has and solving it for them. Another way to say that might be finding a product that somebody needs and selling it to them.
However, this is easier said than done if you don’t have the skills to solve these types of problems or sell these kinds of products. If you were to do nothing more than learn how to generate traffic to a moneymaking website you can make a lot of money online.
Become an expert at getting people to visit your website and then just play the numbers. This takes skills so, therefore, you’re going to need to spend a lot of your time learning how to get these people to your website.
Common ways today include email marketing, blogging, social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, SEO, backlinks, solo ads, etc.
Plan Your Work
Successful people spend time planning what they are going to do. Their plans include…
– a daily to-do list
– weekly goals
– a monthly plan
– long-term plans
There’s not going to be anything left to chance when you start your day off with a daily to-do list. This could be things that were leftover from yesterday, or it could be new things that you’re doing that are going to help you achieve your weekly goals.
Your daily to-do list is somewhat mobile, where your weekly goals are going to be laid out in advance. The same with your monthly plan and your long-term goals. You can always make adjustments to these.
However, when you have them written down, and you are reading them on a constant basis, they become a part of you and the way he always seems to present itself to you! This all stems from the habits that successful people use to work at planning what they’re going to do to be successful.
Work Your Plan
A plan without action is nothing more than words written down on a piece of paper. This is the hard part for many Internet marketers.
Do you know what is easy?
Hanging out on Facebook and calling it to work. Cleaning your desk or fiddling around with your website.
Are these items really part of your success plan?
80% of your time should be spent on traffic generation after you have your money-making website or blog set up. You may even want to bump that up to 90% because the best work habit you can have is spending your productive time getting people to your site!
Since I’m harping so much on the importance of spending 80 to 90% of your time on traffic generation let me lay out exactly what that is.
1. Start a blog.
2. Add high-quality content.
3. Learn basic search engine optimization.
4. Market your blog posts to the primary social sites. These sites should include Facebook, Twitter Google Plus, and Instagram.
5. Build an email list. Do this on your blog with the sign-up form.
6. Send out regular emails that build relationships with your subscribers so that when you want to sell them something they will buy.
This may seem like a long list, but in reality, these are the basic habits you need to get into when it comes to generating traffic to your website.
Get in the habit of working out. This could be something as simple as getting away from your desk and going outside and taking a walk.
Buy an exercise bike or treadmill and spend 15 to 20 minutes every day on it. If you like the social aspect of exercising join a club and get in there 3 to 4 times a week. You’ll be amazed at how your work habits improve when you are in better shape and feel good about yourself.
If you are in a business opportunity such as I am with Wealthy Affiliate working out at a club is a passive way to meet with business partner prospects.
Get some simple business cards made up and hand them out when the opportunity presents itself. This is another habit to get into and successful people do it every day!
Work habits are developed through repetition and time. What I’ve always found interesting is how you often don’t even realize a habit is formed until you step back and analyze it.
