One thing about the MLM business plan, it has not met an industry it does not like. That attitude makes it like Will Rogers who said he never met a person he did not like. In our Amsoil MLM Review, you will see that.

No matter what industry you work in or want to work in you can adjust the MLM business strategy to fit that employment. The same holds true for the oil industry. Amsoil has used the MLM business plan to market its synthetic oils to different markets.

If the business plan works then do not be surprised that so many different companies spanning multiple industries will adopt it. It is a win-win strategy for the business. If all the other products do not seem like a fit for you, maybe selling Amsoil’s synthetic oils is the product that works best for you.

What is Amsoil?

Amsoil came about when a former fighter pilot started to experiment with synthetic oils. Albert J. Amatuzio started out in the 1960s to produce better oil than the more famous commercial oil companies were producing.

The break Mr. Amatuzio needed came in 1972 when he was able to formulate a great 10W 40 oil. His years of research paid off and Amsoil was on its way to the big time.

The good aspect of this company is that it makes synthetic oils for a variety of vehicles including cars, ATVs, heavy construction vehicles, boats, and a lot more. There are also garage tools and grease supplies. They help the mechanic get the car properly lubricated and ready for the road.

Amsoil is a company staffed by engineers etc., but these same people are what are called gearheads. They are people who like different vehicles so they take special care in their work to make sure the products they develop work for you.

They spend a lot of money on research to make sure their products compete or surpass conventional oils. The company puts its money where its mouth is when it comes to developing a top product for you to sell

How Does Amsoil Work?

Amsoil is like any other MLM corporation. They use direct sales through company representatives to market their products. You have to sign up and you can be either a customer rep or a dealer. Whichever fits your business goals.

After signing up the company pays you a commission on your sales and on the sales of your recruits. That is a typical MLM operation and Amsoil does not stray from this formula at all.

In some cases, you do need to pay $50 approx for your membership fee. There is no mention of any upsells but those may come after you sign up and try to get started with the company.

What is unfortunate is the limited product line. You are essentially putting your eggs in one basket and have no room to expand beyond the initial synthetic oils and odds-and-end products the company manufactures.

There is a support button but what kind of support you get is unknown. There is basic training if there is any training offered by the company. Basically, you are on your own and you have to handle all the challenges that arise as you try to sell this product.

Can You Make Money Amsoil?

One of the better aspects of this network marketing company is that the buy-in is not that expensive. So you have an opportunity to make money without emptying your bank account. How much the dealer starter kit is also not known and the company website does not reveal the price.

If you can sell then you do have a chance to make money as the oil products do work. The only problem is the market is saturated with Amsoil reps or dealers and you will have a tough time recruiting downlines and dealers to market the product.

Then you have to worry about the competition as there are a lot of oil products out there. It is hard to convince people to make a switch to synthetic oil when your potential customers are satisfied with their conventional oil products.

Or they listen to their mechanic over your sales pitch. Either way, you are going to have a tough time selling these overpriced products. That is the standard MLM negative. To support the MLM model the products’ cost has to be elevated and that makes it hard for some people to justify buying your oils.

Examples Of How To Make Money With Amsoil

There are two basic ways to make money off of being an Amsoil distributor. They are both MLM standards and this company doe snot adjust them for their people at all. First is the direct sales method.

This is something you are already aware of and Amsoil pays you 2%, to begin with as long as you have 100 credits. To reach 5% commission you need 300 credits and to make 25% commission you need to reach 5,000 credits.

It is a complicated way to make money. Second, you need to recruit and recruit. Once you get some people under you your revenue stream should pick up as long as those recruits you picked are motivated.

The drawback to recruiting is not the high cost of the [product but getting them to understand the complicated compensation plan. Next are the commission credits and you get some money depending on how much you have earned in a given month. Then Amsoil offers bonuses if you meet certain goals. Good luck with both of those additional opportunities.

Like any MLM corporation, you may have difficulty reaching those goals if you are not good at sales or you are trying to sell in an oversaturated market and no one is interested in paying more for something they use a lot.

The Pros and Cons of Amsoil MLM

Pros:

To get a better view of the company you need to look at the positives and negatives that come with any business. These little tidbits help you see the reality of the business before you invest your money or time.

• Great reviews
• Good customer service
• Some training and support are available
• No lawsuits against it

Cons:

• Its an MLM corporation
• You pay to play
• High-priced products to sell in a competitive market
• Complicated compensation plan
• Too much recruiting
• Training is not that good

Any Negatives? Beware of Lawsuits

The majority of the negatives you will find about Amsoil are the standard ones found in any MLM corporation. The compensation plan is hard to figure out and you may not get paid the money you think you should be paid.

Plus, if you are not a good recruiter, you will miss out on a lot of revenue that would have been yours if you could have signed up people to sell as your downlines. The other negative you have to deal with is that conventional oils are cheaper than synthetic brands and many people are very loyal to those conventional oil brands.

So far Amsoil has not had to endure any legal actions against i. That may be because they seem to operate their business in an ethical manner and make sure their people are looked after even though the compensation plan is a bit over the top.

Also, the products seem to work as no user has sued the company, that we know of, for the loss of their vehicle due to their synthetic oil use. This is a good sign that the company is actually trying to produce top-quality products that work.

Is Amsoil Legitimate?

Amsoil has been in business for almost 50 years. During that time they have been able to garner a BBB rating of A+ which means that it is a very legitimate business and it is serious about remaining a legitimate business.

The problem that may cause some people to think it is not legitimate is the fact it uses an MLM business model to market its wares. There are a lot of people who are skeptical of this business strategy and label every company illegitimate that uses that model.

Of course, the people who did not succeed will call it a scam company and they have a right to say such things. The MLM compensation plans are not geared to help the sales rep. They are designed to help the company make more money than it should.

Just make sure that when you sign up it is not going to be a get-rich-quick scheme and that you will have to do your part to make your efforts a success. The company is not going anywhere and it is not looking to make mistakes at this point in time.

 Final Thoughts

Amsoil is not the only company that has dabbled in a synthetic oil company. There was a product called Slick 50 back in the late 1900s that went in the same direction. What this means is that Amsoil may have a good product that you can feel good about representing and selling to the general public.

Synthetic oils can help people’s vehicles survive longer and they may not need to change their oil as often thereby saving a little money in the long run. With the low investment requirements, this may be one of the better MLM companies to work for. That is if you can live with the compensation plan.

The company and the product are worth investigating to see if it is the right move for you to make employment-wise.
