How does the Liveops work?
Liveops works pretty straightforwardly in finding a job that matches your experience, skill, and availability. But before that, you need to meet the basic requirements and undergo the application process.
Liveops basic requirements for their applicants are:
- You must be 18+ years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- US resident and authorized to work
You also need to check if you are in one of the eligible states:
Alabama
Alaska Arizona Delaware Florida Georgia Idaho Illinois Indiana | Iowa
Kansas Kentucky Maine Maryland Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri | Montana
Nebraska Nevada New Mexico North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Pennsylvania | Rhode Island
South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Virginia West Virginia Wyoming Washington, D.C. |
Then to start with your application process, click on Apply now, which will take you o the available job openings, then:
- Select the job role you would like to apply for.
- You will be asked to create your Liveops account, which needs your email and a password.
- Then you need to complete your profile, answer some questions, and upload your updated resume.
- Once Liveops receives your application, it will notify you if you are eligible for the job.
- If you’re eligible for the job, Liveops will conduct a 5-minute technical check on your laptop or computer if it meets the client’s specification requirements.
- Then Liveops will start a background and credit check, for which you will need to pay $45 for the processing fee which may take up to five business days.
- If you pass the background and credit check, you may sign your Independent Contractor Agreement and the W9 tax form.
- Then Liveops will send you the job details via emails such as call types, responsibilities, certification information, work schedule, and compensation.
- Some clients may ask for additional requirements, such as submitting an equipment deposit or signing some paperwork.
- Liveops will then ask you to complete the certification course that is tailor-fit to your client’s requirements. This could be through self-paced eLearning courses or virtual classroom sessions to equip you with the knowledge and skills for the job. This certification process may last for a few hours or a few weeks.
- After completing the certification process, you are now ready to take your first call and start earning.
Some applicants are unable to continue with the application process because they failed the background and credit checks. Here are the reasons why:
- 2 or more tax liens or civil judgments within the past five years, excluding marriage dissolution
- 2 or more bankruptcies
- More than $10,000 past due debt or in collections excluding mortgage foreclosure
- Credit file freeze or fraud alert
- Criminal history such as felony and misdemeanor records, theft, fraud, breach of trust, and so on.
Can You Make Money Liveops?
Yes, you can make money with Liveops but don’t expect a big payout. The $400 per week income is a bit farfetched in reality. Your Liveops income will completely rely on your performance, the service volume you provide, and your chosen program.
You can earn anywhere between 25c to 35c per minute of talk time, and sometimes you can get some bonus for a commission depending on the client. Some programs pay for commission only.
Despite the potential low pay, it’s good to know that Liveops payout processing is effortless. Just send them your invoice, and you will be paid via direct deposit or check. The payout is twice a week.
How To Make Money With the Liveops?
If you want to make more money with Liveops, choose the program that pays out the most. You can try the sales job roles because they oftentimes provide commissions and incentives to their agents. Other than that, you can only depend on Liveops for some extra money.
The Pros & Cons of liveops
Even though Liveops has been operating for more than a couple of decades now; they are not a perfect company and still has its pros and cons:
Pros:
- Work-from-home job opportunity
- Competitive pay rates
- No expensive fees for applying
- Excellent agent support system
Cons:
- No pay for in-between calls
- Unpaid training
- Competitive market
- It would help if you had to pay for background and credit checks without a job guarantee

Any Negatives? Beware of Lawsuits
Filed back one noble lawsuit in 2007 against Liveops. The lawsuit alleges that Liveops violated the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 by improperly classifying their home agents as “independent contractors.”
Moreover, it also alleges that Liveops controlled most of their agent’s jobs, not paying for the training, paying less than the minimum federal wage, and not paying for overtime if their agents worked for more than 40 hours. However, this case was dismissed.
Then in January 2021, Kimberly Barnes filed a labor lawsuit against Liveops agent services LLC which also led to the dismissal of the case by April of the same year.
Aside from these lawsuits, you can find a long list of complaints on the BBB website and in some other places online. Most of the complaints were about the delay in the background and credit check, account getting suspended, low pay, unpaid training, and not getting hired after spending money for the start-up cost. There were 27 complaints for the past 3 years, and Liveops rated 1.44 over 5 stars based on the customer reviews.
Is Liveops Legitimate?
Liveops is a legitimate company, but they are not the best-paying home-based jobs out there. You can find other work-from-home companies that have better pay. If you are looking for part-time work and flexible hours, then perhaps Liveops is good for you. But the pay won’t be enough to leave your day job.
Final Thoughts.
Liveops is a good company providing home-based jobs for many people for over a couple of decades now. However, it is not for everyone. If you need a substantial income to support your family, this is not the right job for you. But you can consider Liveops as a side hustle or a part-time job to earn some extra cash.
There are other ways of earning an income online that do not demand a lot of requirements. Best of all, you can be your own boss.

I am very familiar with this work at home program, I was not satisfied with it, and it is really misleading, as the article stated, the payout is in the cents. For me this was a waste of time and money.
This topic give a great layout on the program, that’s exactly how I remember it. Thanks for sharing.

The negative reviews are hurting Liveops. If they change their programs a little by providing great value to their affiliates, more people will become attractive to their business.
Although they provide greater service to the public, I would not recommend them as a business opportunity at the moment.
Liveops seems like a good site to explore. I have not been working for 2 weeks and would like to give this platform a try. I know the earning potential is not high. But if it at least can put food on our table, I’d be happy while this hard time goes by. I have always wanted to work from home. So I am looking forward to this one too.
If you want to make maximum money with Liveops, choose the program that pays out the most. You can try the sales job roles because they provide higher commissions and incentives to their agents. If you are having trouble and are not working out, join me inside Wealthy Affiliate, and I will work with you personally to help you reach your goals and eventually make a full-time income from home. Hi David, thank you for sharing this article. This is so nicely put together. I never heard about Liveops. This is really interesting, and I absolutely love your honesty, David. An honest and truthfulness review about work at home company. In my experience, I’ve tried with Fiverr but is so much competition up there that I just give up, never return to my gigs.
Have you enrolled with them, have you tried them, how is it, is it working? Can anyone do this from all over the world? Thank you & many blessings to you
Liveops is just like a normal 9 to 5 job with no benefits and time freedom. While going through their training, you do not get pay, and when you join, they do not pay overtime to their agents.
No, I never try any of their gigs or sign up to take their training. You have to be a US resident to sign up to their company to answer your questions.
