This article will show you how to implement a marketing strategy that speaks to your Millennial audience. I love millennials. This is a generation of people who are misunderstood in many ways.
I have found them to be very entrepreneurial. As an affiliate marketer, I love to work with millennials for this very reason.
Over the years I have marketed various products and have settled on the Wealthy Affiliate program. This has been a great source of income for me and can be for millennials. You may be an affiliate marketer or do online marketing in other ways.
Here is what I want to do in this article. Let’s talk about how to implement a marketing strategy for millennials.
How can you speak directly to them? Here is how!
Focus On Entrepreneurs
As I stayed, many millennials wanted to have their own business. They have an entrepreneurial spirit they wish to use to get away from a JOB and work for themselves.
Identifying these people is much easier than trying to change someone into something they are not. Many millennials need to go to work to experience for themselves the joy or heartache that comes from going to work.
Millennials that have been in the marketplace for any period are more likely to be looking for something else than those that have not. Some may already be involved in another program that is not working and looking for a better opportunity.
Are They Jumping?
The day of the 40-year plan is over. Years ago, people were taught to go to college, get a job with a company, work there for 40 years, and retire.
Those days are long gone. According to an article on Fourth Ambit, 83% of millennials would leave their current job for a better job.
Even more of these millennials are willing to consider becoming an entrepreneur than staying at a job they do not like. In an article on Entrepreneur.com, the Kauffman Foundation says 54% of millennials have already started a business or would like to.

So, yes, they are jumping, but they are selective. You have to be able to prove what you have to offer them is worth it. This is another reason I love to promote Wealthy Affiliate to millennials.
Wealthy Affiliate is the perfect program for many reasons. Income and training would be at the top of my list and are good incentives for millennials.

Good Bye 9:00-5:00
Dolly Parton didn’t know when she wrote the Nine To Five for the movie of the same name that she was speaking to millennials. If you don’t remember it, it has the words: “Working 9 to 5 what a way to make a living. Working 9 to 5, it’s all taking and no giving.”
I love that because this is how many millennials view jobs today. They prefer to choose where they work, but they also want to decide when they work.
A 9 to 5 job does not fit into the lifestyle of a millennial today. Millennials want to come and go as they choose. This is a primary reason they will be looking for either additional ways to make money to allow them to do that or even a complete career change into an entrepreneurial business owner.
When you look at using the Internet to make money, you can even add one more component. This is the reason I love Affiliate Marketing.
As long as you have an Internet connection, you can work anywhere you want, 24 hours a day. When you have an Internet business, your business is always open for business. The Internet never sleeps.
Millennials can travel and run their business, go down to the local coffee shop and run a business, or have family time knowing their website is still online, earning money. This is why so many are saying goodbye from 9:00 to 5:00 and becoming an entrepreneur.

Embracing Technology
If you are a business owner who can promote technology and your opportunity, millennials are more likely to listen to you. There is no doubt technology plays a massive role in all of our lives today, and millennials are very adept at using it to their advantage.
Whether you do network marketing, affiliate marketing, forum marketing, email marketing, e-commerce, dropshipping, or whatever you do, you want to make technology a feature of your opportunity. Whereas baby boomers or retired senior citizens might be scared of this approach, millennials will embrace it.
Along with technology, you can also tie social media into that. This is where millennials hang out, and they’re not afraid of blogging, building a website, joining social networks such as Twitter or Facebook, etc.
I can’t think of any business model that doesn’t implement technology into what they do somehow. Focusing on what your business does to use technology to its advantage will be a significant plus for you if you’re trying to recruit millennials into any of your business opportunities.
final thoughts
I love millennials as prospects for my affiliate marketing program. You should love them as prospects for your products and programs.
I have not found them lazy, but I find them to be very selective in what they choose to do. The fact that so many do not want the rigidity of a 9-to-5 job makes them excellent prospects for online businesses.
When you implement a marketing strategy, consider that millennials are excellent targets for your project. Focus on promoting the benefits of using social media and you’ll never run out of prospects for Target in this fantastic age group.
You can look at special social networks or discussion forums for your program. Also, use the big three right now are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This is where to find millennials!
The best place for Millennials to start is with Affiliate Marketing.

As a millennial myself, I have learned to adopt the Entrepreneurial mindset and also currently building and affiliate marketing business because I’m sick and tired of “JOBS”.
There are no benefits to working a job – only bad health combined with an empty bank account awaits lol.
But having said that, working most of my life has taught me a few lessons along the way and I’ve also adopted the work-ethic, which I’ve transferred to building myself an online business for a better future.
Now in a day and age where we have “the internet”, it’s 100% possible for anyone to become an Entrepreneur.
These are exciting times because back in the 80s/90s – we never had the online world which made building a business a little more difficult.
So we should definitely be taking advantage of cyberspace and choose a platform to build a business on.
For me, it’s all about blogging at the moment. But eventually, I plan on building sales funnels, using email marketing, and getting more involved in Instagram. 🙂
When it comes to building a business, I think millennials have more of an advantage over today’s younger generation because we grew up in tougher times without smartphones and tablets, etc. We were more grateful for what we had and worked EXTREMELY hard, in my opinion.
Neil
Neil, it is very much easier to build a business online today. And we have note state the surface with the opportunities that makes it possible.
Being a millennial myself, the road would be much easier, cause I know what hard times are working on a 9 to 5 like you rightfully mentioned.
Blogging is my passion as well and may branch of to building membership sites, to bring a new learning curve into Internet Marketing and how to capitalize on this awesome opportunity.
Thank you for your insights and I wish you all the best with your business today and years to come. If I can help in any way, please let me know. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks David for your interesting blog. I agree that melllinnels have more of a enteprneural mindset and that there is more opportunity today than ever before. They are also forced to think differntly because of the cost of college. I know that I would not be able to afford college today. Fortunatly college is not the only way to get an education. There are lots of great sources online for those who apply themselfs.
You Welcome Micah, and thank you for your insight about others ways that someone can use to get an education if they apply themselves.
Millennials, plays a major part of our society today and there input in business can be a force to reckon with. Yes, there are a big part of our Marketers group today and they have a great mindset. Take care.
Hi David,
You touch on a lot of very interesting topics but the underlying thread I see is a difference in life philosophies between ourselves (members of the older generation) and the younger generation.
They actively reject the traditional paradigms that we love to rigidly stick by.
I agree with you that the younger generation do indeed have a lot of positive traits that can be of benefit. I would in fact go a few steps beyond that and encourage everyone to stop this whole group mentality (millennials, baby boomers, etc)
Individuals of any age will exhibit traits different to their social groups.
For instance, I am part of a large group of middle aged men who have been married had kids then divorced and lost it all.
Quite a few of us have started from scratch again and completely disowned the social norms we are supposed to abide by. Anyone can be a digital nomad. Anyone can escape the rat race and anyone can break free of the restraints they find themselves keep.
Keep at it mate. Hopefully together we can offer a whole new generation of people alternatives that put wealth and choices back into the pockets of people who need it most.
Remy, thank you for your comment and insight on implementing a marketing strategy and considering the Millennial generations.
They may not be loved by many but their strategies work with little or no effort whatsoever. i would take some of their traits and use it to my advantage.
I totally understand what the average middle aged men went through and why the failure rate is so high.
i personally believe that if we dare to be different we will achieve greater success and get away from the norm. I myself did have to start over with a different strategy that i had to implement. you are so right.
I really do believe that we are heading in the right direction and more people are being part of that movement that more people would benefit and have greater success. thank you again for your thoughts on this.
Very informative and well put article. You are absolutely correct about having an entrepreneur mind and forget about the 9-5. I know I did and I haven’t looked back. it feels so good to be your own boss and have the freedom to do what you love with the people that you love. Thanks again for reminding me why I love affiliate marketing and Wealthy Affiliate!

Hey David
I’m a little older at 60 however this article is brilliant as I see how many younger people today are becoming Entrepreneurs and building their online futures and this article is so great.
The studies you have shared show how much life has changed from the Dolly Parton song Mindset to the Let’s get this done mindset
Great share today thank you
Vicki, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment and kind words. Sixty is just a number, and with this online world, everyone is climbing aboard and taking advantage of the opportunity.
