Can I make money online today? I came across an interesting thread over at The Warrior Forum last year. I Made $1 Online Today! Now, Can I Make $1000 online?
That was the subject, and I have the answer to that in this article. As you could imagine the responses are all over the place.
Let me give you a story of someone making money online for 15 years.
In Sept. 2002 he started buying opt-in leads of people looking for ways to make money online. He imported these into an autoresponder and started emailing them affiliate links to different things relating to making money online.
The one that did the best was Rosalind Gardner’s “Super Affiliate Handbook” in which he made over $450 in commissions his first month.
He was hooked on making money online and I have never stopped. He has made money every month for almost 14 years now. Here is what he says he learned in that time and how it applies to the person who just made $1 and now wonders if they can make $1000.
Ask yourself this question!
Is the way I made $1 something I can scale into making $1K? In this case, back in 2002, he just kept buying more opt-in leads and emailing them. His income increased.
Although he says he does not remember exactly when he had his first $1k month, he does remember in the fall of 2006 had his first $1K day. However, buying op-tin leads was not a long-term model as several things changed in relation to spam and even being able to buy opt-in leads and import them into an autoresponder.
You cannot do that anymore. So, what about making $1K after you have made your first $1?
One of the Warrior Members summarized it this way.
Can I Make Money Online?
The answer is Yes. There are many make-money online tips one can follow, but it depends on a few things….
Yes depends on 5 factors:
- Available time.
- The system (that earned the $1).
- Profit margins.

This is a good enough list to consider so let’s think about it.
1. Ability. Doing Internet marketing takes skills.
Most people never master any so they will NOT ever even make it to $1. I’m not talking about taking surveys here.
2. Available time. Until you master 1 or 2 Internet marketing skills this is a BIG reason why most never earn $1K ever.
However, once you learn how to use the Internet to market things time becomes somewhat irrelevant becomes the Internet never sleeps. You can make money 24 hours a day once you have your system for doing it in place.
3. Finances. It does not take money to make money, but it does if you do not have time.
If you can afford to outsource what you do not know how to do, including marketing, anyone can make $1K and well beyond. There is a saying, “do what you like best and outsource the rest”!

4. The system that earned you $1. How did you make your first dollar?
If it was taking paid surveys online you can not probably scale that to $1k. Anything that takes your time limits your ability to make more money because you eventually run out of time.
There are only 24 hours a day! If you can leverage your time correctly then how much you make is really only a matter of doing what works. Then use a rinse-and-repeat system for doing it over and over to make more money the easy way. Rinse and Repeat!
5. Profit margins. With paid advertising, it becomes not how much you make, but how much you keep. This is why you see so much emphasis on building an email list. If you have a list you can sell to, your advertising costs go way down,
Your fixed costs are only $20/mo. for an autoresponder, plus your time to write the email and click the send button. The hard part is building the list and again most never really ever get much of a list to email to.
$1K A Day Killer.
Millions of people come online every day looking for ways to make money. Were you aware that many of them are the same people that were looking online yesterday, the day before that, and the day before that?
Why is that?
It is not because they do not find real ways to make money. Their problem is they are not willing to work.
They are looking for the gold bullet, or the grass is always greener. In reality, jumping around from one opportunity to another will never get you to $1K a day. look for an honest reliable home-based business as I did and educate yourself about online marketing.
There is no real substitution for knowledge accompanied by a little elbow grease and sticking to it! Be one of the people who do that and not the one coming back online tomorrow wasting time looking again. And do not follow companies that claim you would have success if you follow their system.
Here is what I have seen in the last several years in relation to others making money online. Anyone can, but most never do! Sad but true!
You either have to invest money to have people do things for you, or you have to invest time to learn how to do Internet marketing. Once you learn you have to apply that knowledge and invest your time and effort until you have enough profit to hire people to do the work for you.

Hi there. I just finished reading your article about making money online and thought I would just drop you a quick comment to say thanks.
I have been into affiliate marketing for quite a long time. Not as long as the guy in this story though. Its true that once you have made your first dollar you can usually just replicate your efforts to make even more.
I remember the first bit of income that I made. It took me two weeks for hard work sending traffic to an affiliate offer that eventually made me $10! I was so happy!
Since then I have gone on to make lots more money online. I’m thankful that I am one of the lucky ones who stuck with it and made it work.
I wonder where the guy was buying leads from in this story? Sounds like a pretty good method of building an email list.
Andrew, thank you for dropping by on my site and leaving a comment.
Yes, the guy in this article use a system to make is first dollar, and take the same system to make $1000 and more by replicating his efforts.
Good to see that you saw results after your effort which paid off with $10, and the results you gain after that, congratulations. I applaud you for your hard work.
The guy was using opt-in leads which back then use to work. But it don’t anymore. But the same system can be used in Bing, Facebook and Google paid ads. Hope that helps.
When someone is doing internet marketing for a long time even without earning a penny, when suddenly sees a dollar earned, will definitely be putting more effort to earn more and more.
When I saw the first sales on Amazon after quite a lot of time I got more enthusiasm and started putting more effort and my sales are growing day by day.
If Opt-in leads are not working now how this system works on Facebook, Google paid ads and bing? Can I presume that the links are posted on the websites instead of posting in autoresponders?
Thanks for your useful post.
Hard to believe that people take a long time to earn their first dollar online, but i guess you right, they would increase their efforts to earn more, like the way it happened for you.
The system, I was referring to was the opt-in-leads the person i mention was using. It looks where he was getting them from went sour on him, and that do happens depending on the size of the list of the person he was getting them from.
Facebook, Google and Bing on the other hand is quite different, because you have to write the ads and capture the leads, and then convert those leads to sales. They should be posted both places. But a slight difference in your email campaign. You don’t want to be caught for spamming by keep pushing your offer instad of value to your potential customers. Hope that helps
